“If the foundations of a godly society are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3

If you’re in danger of losing your job (or already have) over the vaccine madness – you know, the vaccine that works so well that you need boosters…and masks…and everyone else needs them too – you’re rightly a little stressed out right now. Second, if you puzzle over the direction of our government and its counterfeiting scheme, and wonder why there isn’t more said about creeping inflation and empty shelves, it’s understandable. Third, if scratch your head over all the transgenderism, you’re not alone.

Are you feeling the heat? That’s the thing to ask? Are you? Good. The heat of this is good because it means you’re not morally insane and spiritually bankrupt. Consider what Paul wrote, “Indeed, all who delight in pursuing righteousness and are determined to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be hunted and persecuted because of their faith. But evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced (holding tightly to the truths), knowing from whom you learned them, and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness) 2 Timothy 3:12-15.” That, my friend, is the Scripture’s reply to the question posed in Psalm 11:3.

Yes, the vaccine mandates are as tyrannical as they are illogical. Yes, the government counterfeiting money (through bond purchases of a staggering $120 billion every month!) is going to cause an economic disaster. And, yes, the modern love affair with sexual deviancy is going to end badly for culture as it always does. Oh, and, indeed, these are all tip of the iceberg sins that the church should be preaching about. Why aren’t they? Because, for those that have drank the Kool-Aid of secular humanism, they’re more interested in getting along with the world than with God. Oh, and yeah…they’re a little weak in the heart department, which is to say that they’re showing themselves to be cowards who fear persecution.

Yep, that’s all true.

So, what about all this makes it a good thing?

Well, first and foremost, there are the promises of God! When we read in Romans 8 that “all things will work together for good for those who love God…” we mustn’t think that all things excludes the pains and sorrows recorded for the righteous throughout Scripture. Just think of Paul’s verse in consideration here. He was talking about exactly this sort of stuff, after all. We rightly rejoice in the hope of the glory of God as Christians – and we delight in the blessings around us, especially those precious moments of answered prayers. Well, are you ready? Gird yourself up now. This is gonna smart. The God who promises us salvation through Christ also promises that difficult times will come. “But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times of great stress and trouble will come. (2 Timothy 3:1). That’s awfully plain, isn’t it?

The promise of this is all over Scripture and, here’s the good part, we aren’t told to take it like a Stoic. We aren’t told, “well, sorry about all this…that’s just the way it is, you know.” No! The God of our soul tells us to “rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that hardship and suffering produces endurance (Romans 5:3).” I know…I know…we’d prefer a different course of action than having to suffer through this massive collapse of sanity all around us. But we rejoice in the development of a tested faith more precious than all the wealth in the world.

Plus, we get the benefit of seeing the folly of the world for what it is. The lust of the eyes and the lure of the world’s riches have led many astray because all the stupidity of sin was hidden behind the mask of wealth and power. Well, the Lord is bringing these powers out in the open and exposing them, isn’t He? And all those cowardly appeasement-monkeys preaching “tolerance” and “unity”, who call out those who call out sin, but never the sin? What of them? Isn’t it clear? By their fruit we know them. They make a profession, they say the right things and all that, but when the pressure comes, they fold. That’s the seed that dies, right?

But the seed that fell among fertile soil? That’s you…provided you suffer with Him. The thing to know is that the reason the church hasn’t seen any real persecution (yet) is that it’s basically not the church anymore anyway. Most Christians today believe that the separation of church and state means that the government can do whatever it wants and the church does “spiritual things”. That’s either complete atheism or, in the main, polytheism. Thus, rejoice in feeling the heat from the unbelieving world because that means you’re living in the promise of the word of the Lord. If you don’t feel the heat it’s because you’re going along with the world. Why would they hate you when you basically concede their central point which is that Jesus isn’t truly Lord of all.

No, this isn’t easy to watch or live through. It’s not. But it is an opportunity to witness the comical folly of sin. For instance, we’re told to “follow the science” by people who don’t think there are two genders anymore. All of this is Psalm 2 playing out right before our eyes. It’s the Tower of Babel all over again. So, trust me…no, trust the Lord and know that humanism, in all its varied garb, no matter what dress it wears, always loses to the Lord. The earth is the Lord’s, not the U.N.’s or WEF’s or any other globalist organization. Stop dreading and start praising. The Lord Jesus Christ isn’t up there wringing His holy hands and trying to figure out what to do. Stay strong. Stay dressed for action. Stay ready with the word of the Lord to both defend your own soul and to build up those He’s given you. Fight! Fight the fight of faith, not with the world’s weapons, but with prayer and true fellowship that revolves around the word/law of Christ. God isn’t napping. He’s in charge and He has you and no one can snatch you out of His hand. Stop living in fear and pray to live in joyful faith. We aren’t called to be defeatist Christians. We didn’t receive the spirt of slavery to fall back into fear but have received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry, “Abba, Father…”

This is a time for boldness. This is a day for Christ’s soldiers to speak His name to a world lost in arrogance and sin. And, remember, when you take their fire, it’s because you’re standing on the word. This is a great day because it’s the day of salvation and we know that, no matter what, we live for the Lord. So live for Him with joy and know that right now counts forever.
